You bitch, you slut, you whore.   —   Video Games

This post is a follow-up post to "Girls just wanna raid tombs."

In the past three days I've invested about fifteen hours of gaming into the new Tomb Raider: Legend. You may be horrified by that number and if you are it's okay, I would be too. Non-gamers don't really understand the complete and all encompassing passion that one takes on when playing a game they love. It's kind of like reading a book, you're in another world, going on adventures and slowly uncovering story and motive. Only with a game you're in control of the main character, guiding their steps, choosing their next move. Of course the outline is still there, you have to get from point A to point B, but in between those two points is where all the fun happens, it's the place where you either live or die.

Even still, I'm not considered a true "gamer", I'm more categorized as a casual gamer.

But as I was saying before, much time was dedicated to the new Tomb Raider game this past weekend, mostly late nights and mornings, yet I still feel like I haven't had enough. Keep in mind, before you feel sorry for the lack of life that you probably now assume I lead, that I've been anticipating this game for three years now. It's been a long time coming and I have to say, it's certainly worth it. Well, I may be stretching that a bit. In order to make waiting for a particular game for three years, worth it, the game would have to be absolutely fucking unbelievable. As much as I enjoy the new Tomb Raider, and I think it's the best in the lot, I still recognize the areas on which the game could improve. It's still a little slow to catch up in the truly fantastic game line, but it's getting the idea, and it's heading that way. Even still, considering the utter crap that I was forced to play with Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, the new installment of the series, Tomb Raider: Legend, is so much better, by leaps and bounds, that it gives the illusion that those three years of waiting was certainly worth it. And hell, I'll go along with that. And why not. I've missed the ol girl, even if she's still a cunt.
